It has brought on positive changes in my lifestyle.
I’m eleven days down, three more to go. This fourteen day detox has done more for me than clean toxins out of my body. It has also brought on positive changes to my lifestyle. I made a conscious effort to be still during these 14 days. Allow myself time to just breathe, to relax, to rest. To enjoy and embrace working in silence. Allow myself to just be.
My routine with the detox was simple. Detox tea in the morning. Herbal capsules in the afternoon. Detox tea in the late afternoon. Eat according to the meal plan. I’ve stuck to this routine since Day 1. If you want to catch up on my detox journey click here. http://reneholiday.com/detoxing-nourishing-cells/
Being discipline right out of the gate helped make the experience so much better for me. Making the decision to just be was even better… I thought about everything that revolves in my life. My business, friendships, relationships and dating, spirituality, family- everything. What could I do to improve all of these aspects of my life? Even if something appears to be fine, there is always room for improvement.
Something that really stood out to me was that I had stopped keeping a journal. For no specific reason. Clearly I had allowed myself to get caught up with life. I had a beautiful new journal I had purchased about 5 years ago. I found it, dusted it off, and got to writing. It felt amazing!
As my body has been releasing toxins, I’ve been releasing emotions inside my journal.
Writing in my journal brought the clarity I needed to sort through my thoughts regarding friendships and relationships. Who and What I share with people. Who am I giving access to? Do they deserve access to me? Are they bringing positive energy or negative energy in my space? In my life? What am I going to do different going forward? There was one day I focused on my business. New ideas, areas of focus, and creating new plans of action. I work for myself. Time is everything to an entrepreneur. I’m going through my current work schedule and finding areas where it can improve.
Spirituality. It aligns directly with the detox if you allow the space for it. I practice TAR (Traditional African Religions). As soon as I open my eyes I say a small prayer to my Ori (my head). Then I have a glass an 8oz glass of detox tea. Next I tend to my altars. Because my body feels lighter, my head feels clearer, I feel more connected to spirit. I feel more receptive to that energy. Even before the detox I spent time at my altars. Now I find myself wanting to spend more time in those spaces. It’s been beautiful to connect even deeper.
I didn’t expect the detox to bring on these lifestyle changes, but I’m grateful that it did. Even some of the meals I created, based off the meal plan provided, I’m going to continue to make. I fell in love with certain foods I never thought twice about, such as raspberries. Now I’m eating them everyday, in my oatmeal made with oat milk. Who knew that oatmeal with fresh raspberries would become one of my favorite things to eat!
Three more days to go. More lifestyle changes to come, and I’m here for all of it! The 14 Day Detox I’m currently on is available here. https://obeamoore.com/ You owe it to yourself to change your life for the better.
