First of all, let me start with this- It’s good to be back on my blog! Stepped away for most of 2019 to focus on my Spiritual Growth. Part of that spiritual journey included making Ocha, which you can learn more about here if you’re not familiar with it https://oshunschild.com/2013/11/08/making-ocha-and-the-initiation-procedure/

Part of this spiritual journey included shaving off my entire head of hair. No worries, it grew right back. Healthy and strong! I spent the year keeping it moisturized with shea butter- all the butters really. Along with various blends of natural oils. Seeing that we’re now in the middle of winter (I know, LA winter’s are not “really” winter’s, but anyway…) I really wanted to give my hair a boost with a protein pack. A DIY protein pack. So I hit the internet to start my search…

After looking at a few, one caught my eye. I already had everything at home to make it, with the exception of one ingredient. I quickly ran to the store to grab it, and off I went. NOTE: I did adjust the amounts of products used for the length of my hair. The amounts of products used in this recipe are perfect someone with longer hair. I wear an afro that’s about 6″-7″ long.  I followed the recipe and followed all the steps. I massaged it all over my scalp, and covered every single strand of my hair. I covered my hair in a plastic cap, grabbed a glass of wine, and let it do it’s work.

I can honestly say, that after rinsing it out of my hair, I felt an immediate difference. This particular protein pack included shea butter and yogurt. My scalp felt amazing and the moisture level of my hair – which is natural- was top notch! I’m making a commitment to do this DIY Protein Pack once a month or as needed.
